The “State Guest House” is a renowned guest house run by the Government of Tamil Nadu. It was built in 1970 and is situated just opposite to M. A. Chidambaram Cricket Stadium on Walaja Road in Chepauk. It has 33 rooms and takes care of the catering and lodging requirements of recognised State Guests, Other Dignitaries, and Officials.
The "New State Guest House" is situated in Omandurar Government Estate. It was built on 20th April, 2018 and began operating. It has 40 rooms and was freshly built with modern amenities in addition to the existing facilities.
The State Guest House has two premises. One is situated just opposite to M. A. Chidambaram Cricket Stadium on Walaja Road in Chepauk and is named the 'State Guest House’, while the other is situated at Omandurar Government Estate, Chennai- 600002 and is named the 'New State Guest House'.
