There are three types of tariffs which are charged depending on the category of the guests and the purpose of the visit. The different types of the tariff are:
Concessional: Officials of Tamil Nadu Government/ All India Service Officers from other States on deputation to Tamil Nadu /Members of Parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha who are elected in Tamil Nadu) Retired IAS Officers from Tamil Nadu Cadre Family members of Hon'ble Ministers and All India Service officers of India Tamil Nadu are eligible for this rate.
Intermediate: Foreign Delegates/Diplomates officials of other state Governments / Officials of the Government of India / PSUs/ Officers of central services/Autonomous Bodies/Guests of Hon'ble Ministers/ and all India Services are eligible for this rate.
Others: Private persons and those who do not fall within the above three categories.

Official visit: Officers arriving in Chennai on Invitation / on duty for meetings/conferences/ discussions/ Training and officials who are appearing before Hon'ble High Court / District Court/Various Commissions /Tribunals are considered on official visits. Relevant Government Order/ Letter of Invitation / Letter of conference /meeting / Court summons /Training to be submitted along with an online application, In the absence of which, it will be considered private.
Private visit: If a guest visits Chennai in any capacity other than that mentioned for an official visit, it is considered a private visit.
Family Members: Family members include wife and children including an adopted and step -Children of the Officer, who are dependent on the Officer.
Each reservation is limited to a maximum of two rooms for a period of up to five days.
After the fifth day, the room tariff will increase to double the original rate for the next ten days (i.e., from the 6th day to the 15th day), and then triple the original rate for the remaining 15 days (i.e., from the 16th day to the 30th day).
